1963 Porsche 356 B Roadster - 33 266 miles

The 356 Roadster is a car that rarely comes available. The 356 Convertible is the more common version, as it has a soft top that's quick to close, which made a lot more sense for buyers ordering the car new. The Roadster is essentially the same car but without a soft top — they normally came with a removable hard top instead (as seen here).

This example was owned from the eighties until recently, when Modern Classic Collective was given the opportunity to sell the car. There is an extensive file on it, with invoices dating back to the early 80s, as well as older photographs.

This 356 was originally brought into the country by Lindsay Saker, the official Porsche dealer at the time. It arrived in 1963, and in 1964 the original "60" engine blew and was replaced with a Super 90. This was well documented, with the receipts kept in the file for the car. There are also some items that come with the car that are incredibly rare to get these days, such as the original wooden steering wheel, original tool kit, side mirror and original speaker covers

It was also resprayed around 15 years ago, from Ivory to Yellow and then back to Ivory, and has remained in that colour since.

This car was sold before it had the chance to hit the market. We had a customer who missed out on the red 356 Convertible we sold earlier in the year, and he jumped at the opportunity to own this one.
