Description

The 996 boasts upgrades such as larger pistons, valves, and crankshaft, along with ported crankcases from the 916 SPS. However, the 996's power delivery and top-end power were softer and less potent compared to the SPS model, at 83.5 kW (112.0 hp) versus 92.4 kW (123.9 hp). To compensate, the 996 features a new air intake system and two fuel injectors per cylinder. Additionally, a redesigned airbox and stylish under seat exhaust system were implemented.
